THE GASPESIAN BRITISH HERITAGE VILLAGE
We opened our doors in 1989 with the purpose of showing the history of the first settlers of the Gaspesian peninsula. The Village, which is spread out over 82 acres in New Richmond West, contains twenty four (24) patrmoinial buildings that will take you back in time, from the 1780's to the early 20th century.
Our staff will help you discover the life of the first colonists who arrived from of England, Scotland, Ireland, etc. and their cohabitation with the Mi'gMaga and the Acadians. Your visit will take you from the General Store to the Duthie Point Lighthouse, via the old schoolhouse, the blacksmith shop and the church where you will experience daily life back then.

THE TOWN OF NEW RICHMOND
Bordered by the Grand Cascapedia River, one of North America's top salmon fishing rivers, and by the marvellous Bay of Chaleurs, member of the select "Most Beautiful Bays of the World" club, the town of New Richmond is unique on the Gaspé peninsula. Founded in the mid sixteenth century, the few Acadians already here were joined by the English, the Empire Loyalists, Scottish, Irish, Jersey Islanders, etc. Thanks to theses newcomers and the native communities, the town slowly took on it's identity.
New Richmond will undoubtably seduce you with it's beautiful vistas, and it's residents known for their warm hospitality.
